MARYLAND Bound!!!!!!
I'm back from a fibre vacation - Maryland Sheep and wool Festival :) More fibre and yarn and other treats to tempt me - and best of all BIG bags of Maggie's mother fibre for me to fondle and hopefully spin some of.
Came home with a big bag of Maggie's wonderful roving especially a wonderful celadon colour that is just stunning!! Also aquired a beautiful Romney fleece (thank you Maggie) a STUNNING mango wood spindle and some amazing fibres from my dear friend Sally and a great new fibre mystery book to dig into :)
I even won a first and a fourth place ribbon with my spinning -can you see how goofy I look LOL
We camped out in the van which is so much fun (no it really is) and had so much to do and see -met some wonderful people including Linda Cortright from Wild Fibers Magazine and Richard Ashford from Ashford Handicrafts.
And Maggie won BEST in Show with her amazing photography -she also won two other blue ribbons -her pictures are soooo beautiful - I think she needs to offer some of them for sale (hint hint)
HUGS all
I'm off to spin more! Counting down the days till the next event - Bouckville NY - June 9th and 10th at the CNY Fiber Festival - well worth the time to drive down as this is a very nice festival that is going to be HUGE.

Had a wonderful and busy time at the show yesterday -won best junior french angora coloured doe and best fur with my Am chins (very important) as that is what they were originally bred for. More excitingly at least to me my original hat designed with angora. mohair and some of Maggie'e beautiful cormo fleece won 2nd place!!!! I've got the pattern ready to roll out at Maryland. I can finally show it off and not keep it hidden LOL.
On the decks today -more horn buttons and spindle kits for Maryland as well - I mean we have to suck people into our wonderful hobby don't we :)

Port Hope Gathering
Today was the annual Port Hope Spinners day -loads of fun and always very busy.
Much chatting and spinning occurred - and a great time was had by all.
I even came home with a new bunny -a satin angora doe named "Sweetpea" -she is very small and cute and of course fuzzy!
This lucky fellow went home with Meg to be spoiled rotten!
Happy and excited spinners!
Buttons -wonderful buttons!
Handknit hats - I love making hats it seems :)
The newest Rocky Meadow Diva -Sweetpea!

New hat idea :)
So I got the wild idea of modifying a cross stitch pattern for a hat and here it is :)
I think it turned out quite nice and the hat model approves of it and loves it so I guess I have to start knitting one for me now -funny how that happens LOL
