Back from the show

Had a wonderful and busy time at the show yesterday -won best junior french angora coloured doe and best fur with my Am chins (very important) as that is what they were originally bred for. More excitingly at least to me my original hat designed with angora. mohair and some of Maggie'e beautiful cormo fleece won 2nd place!!!!  I've got the pattern ready to roll out at Maryland.  I can finally show it off and not keep it hidden LOL.
On the decks today -more horn buttons and spindle kits for Maryland as well - I mean we have to suck people into our wonderful hobby don't we :)

Port Hope Gathering

Today was the annual Port Hope Spinners day -loads of fun and always very busy.
Much chatting and spinning occurred - and a great time was had by all.
I even came home with a new bunny -a satin angora doe named "Sweetpea" -she is very small and cute and of course fuzzy!
This lucky fellow went home with Meg to be spoiled rotten!
 Happy and excited spinners!

 Buttons -wonderful buttons!
Handknit hats - I love making hats it seems :)

New hat idea :)

So I got the wild idea of modifying a cross stitch pattern for a hat and here it is :)

I think it turned out quite nice and the hat model approves of it and loves it so I guess I have to start knitting one for me now -funny how that happens LOL

My happy socks

They are inspired by the poem "when I'm an old woman I shall wear purple "  cause when the weather is this crazy I really feel old (and stiff)
But I'm hunkered down nice and warm and am knitting a new idea -hope it works out -will post it when it's done -if its a big mess I'll hide it forever LOL

So excited have to share :)

http://www.cnyfiber.org/fiberfair.html

Check out the workshops :):):):)
This is an awesome little festival that I am hoping grows into a major event.

And of course we will be using Maggie's most excellent roving !

Sharing at Maggies

As he strode in to the barn, shoulders back, shears firmly in hand, ready to partake of the ancient and noble art of shearing he felt one with cosmic entity that was fiber. LOLOL Sorry can't get the proper tone as Jim Baldwin could yesterday as we sheared at Maggie's Farm. 34 animals lost their beautiful coats -amazing Blue Faced Leicester sheep and wonderful Mohair goats.  The feel of these on your hands is wonderful and thoughts of what they become are astounding,  What you don;t dream in fleece? What is wrong with you?
You might see a pile of fleece -I see possibilities and dreams
And with fleece like this -my dreams were pretty amazing!!!
HUGs all
